H.E. is the marking found on a range of vintage dip pen nibs. Surviving examples include several numbered designs and a model marked “Kroon”, the Dutch word for crown. The identity of the original manufacturer has not been confirmed. These nibs are used with a separate dip pen holder.
The H.E. No. 8 is a vintage dip pen nib with a rounded writing tip and an elongated opening containing an integral metal tongue. It bears the marking “H.E.8”.
