A. Sommerville & Co. was an English steel pen nib company founded by Alfred Sommerville in 1851 and associated with Birmingham’s pen industry. The firm manufactured its own pens and also worked with Josiah Mason, who supplied nibs principally for continental European markets. Many designs were invented or suggested by Sommerville himself. Mason acquired the business in 1870 and continued trading under the A. Sommerville & Co. name. The business later became part of Perry & Co. Limited.
The Bremer Börsenfeder EF is a pointed steel dip pen nib with an extra-fine writing point. It is suited to fine handwriting and detailed pen work. This is the pointed version of the Bremer Börsenfeder, distinct from the separately listed rounded-point Kugelspitzfeder.
