You will receive six unused vintage F. Soennecken Plakatfedern in perfect condition.
F. Soennecken was a German manufacturer of writing instruments and office supplies, founded by Friedrich Soennecken in Remscheid in 1875. The company moved to Bonn the following year. Soennecken developed and promoted a Rundschrift writing method inspired by French Ronde, publishing instruction books and supplying matching steel nibs. The firm's range expanded to include nibs for handwriting, drawing and lettering, as well as penholders, inkwells and fountain pens. Its name became closely associated with German writing culture and office equipment.
These poster-lettering nibs were designed for large, bold lettering on posters, notices and display cards. Their broad writing edges make them suitable for expressive calligraphy and decorative headings. Thick and thin strokes are created by the direction of the stroke and the angle of the writing edge.
The collection contains one nib of each size:
1 nib 60A
1 nib 80A
1 nib 100A
1 nib 120A
1 nib 150A
1 nib 200A
The assortment offers a choice of sizes for experimenting with different lettering scales and styles.
