R. Esterbrook & Co was an American manufacturer of steel dip pen nibs, founded by Richard Esterbrook in 1858 and closely associated with Camden, New Jersey. The company developed an extensive range for everyday handwriting, business correspondence, drawing and lettering. Esterbrook became one of America’s leading pen manufacturers, supplying writers, schools, offices and artists. Its surviving nibs reflect the variety and craftsmanship of traditional American writing equipment.
The Esterbrook No. 62 Crow Quill is a small tubular drawing nib that produces an extremely fine line and offers very high elasticity. Also known as a lithographic pen, it requires a holder suitable for tubular crow quill nibs.
