LUS was an Italian manufacturer of pen nibs and writing instruments based in Saronno. Its name stands for Legnani Umberto Saronno, after its founder, Umberto Legnani. The LUS trademark was registered in 1931. The business began as a small workshop making metal nibs and drawing pins, before expanding into stationery, fountain pens and ballpoint pens. Its vintage nib range includes designs for handwriting, drawing and lettering, reflecting Italy’s tradition of metal dip pen manufacture.

A broad-edged lettering nib with very low elasticity.
