The company moved from Remscheid to Bonn in 1876, where it established its own production of steel pen nibs. Soennecken became particularly associated with Rundschrift, a style of handwriting based on the French Ronde tradition, supported by specially designed nibs and instructional copybooks. Its extensive range of writing nibs, pen holders and other stationery became known internationally.
