Hiro Leonardt nibs belong to the British Leonardt pen-making tradition, which began with D. Leonardt & Co in Birmingham, England, in 1856. The business later became part of Highley Pen Company, whose heritage continues through Manuscript Pen Company. Leonardt nibs are known for their range of designs for handwriting, drawing and calligraphy.

The no. 41 is also known as the Crown nib because of its distinctive crown-shaped collar. It offers a smooth writing feel, high elasticity and a generous ink capacity. Its fine point produces delicate hairlines, while pressure creates broader shaded strokes. It is suitable for modern calligraphy and Copperplate.
